Model United Nations

Model UN Program Overview

Many states host Model United Nations (MUN) conferences as part of their YMCA Youth and Government programs. These programs allow students to take part in experiential learning process as Ambassadors and UN Officials in simulated international diplomacy.

Our Model UN programs usually consist of the primary organs of the United Nations – General Assembly, Security Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice, and the Economic and Social Council – along with a variety of speciality program areas that varies state to state.

Model UN offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of cultures from around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues.
