Many states host Model United Nations (MUN) conferences as part of their YMCA Youth and Government programs. These programs allow students to take part in experiential learning process as Ambassadors and UN Officials in simulated international diplomacy.
Our Model UN programs usually consist of the primary organs of the United Nations – General Assembly, Security Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice, and the Economic and Social Council – along with a variety of specialty program areas that varies state to state.
Model UN offers students the opportunity to experience the richness of cultures from around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues.
The YMCA Model United Nations program, which is based out of the YMCA Civic Engagement programs at the YMCA of Greater Philadelphia, serves students in PA, NJ, NY, MD, and DE by hosting two YMCA Model UN conferences each year in Hershey, PA:
