YMCA Youth and Government

Since 1936, YMCA Youth and Government has empowered hundreds of thousands of middle and high school students to amplify their voices and strengthen their communities through civic engagement, leadership development, and hands-on model government. As one of the nation's oldest and largest youth civics programs, we serve over 60,000 participants across nearly 2,000 schools and hosting over 250 state events annually. Built on the belief that "democracy must be learned by each generation," we equip young people with the skills, character, and lifelong connections needed to become active, impactful citizens in their communities, states, and nation.
