Program Overview

Vermont YMCA Youth and Government hosts a model state government assembly for students in middle and high school (grades 6-12) across the state. 

Our annual assembly allow students to represent their schools and communities by sponsoring and debating bills on a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around Vermont.

Getting Started

Whether you’re brand new to Youth and Government or one of our experienced participants and advisors, here’s everything you’ll need as you get started each year:

• Learn how to join and start a delegation at your school or YMCA
• Visit our assembly page to plan your participation
• Advisors can qualify their delegations for scholarships by completing the Civic Health Champion certification form.
