Program Overview

Our Youth and Government program is a year-round opportunity for students who wish to advocate for their community and create real change.

The YMCA of Honolulu offers a High School (grades 9-12) Model Youth Legislature to students and schools across Hawai’i. 

Representatives from across the state have the chance to participate in civic experiences at the local, state, and national level that promote their voice, strengthen their abilities, and connect participants with professional mentors and state leaders.

Getting Started

Whether you’re brand new to Youth & Government or have experienced Mock Trial, Debate, or other programs, here’s everything you’ll need as you get started:

• Learn how to join and plan your participation at your High School or YMCA  
• View our calendar to see the dates for our program and other national events
• Need-based scholarships are also available for interested students.
