The Hawaiʻi Youth & Government Learning Hub provides students, teachers, YMCA leaders, advisors, and families with a collection of flexible learning pathways designed to develop civic knowledge, leadership skills, and community engagement.
Each pathway can be completed independently, as part of a classroom or YMCA program, or alongside Youth & Government events and conferences. Using a discussion, exploration, and project-based approach, participants are encouraged to investigate issues that matter to them, develop solutions, and take meaningful action within their communities.
Whether you are interested in understanding government, writing legislation, creating community projects, developing advocacy skills, or preparing for conference participation, these resources are designed to meet learners where they are and support growth over time.
Through these pathways, participants will strengthen skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, leadership, research, and civic action while exploring how young people can make a positive impact in Hawaiʻi and beyond.
Use the pathway guide below to explore the different learning opportunities available and choose the learning journey that best matches your interests and goals.
